Personal Design Hooks

The Plat Africa Competition brief was to make a piece of jewellery using the theme of Metamorphosis. The only limit that was set is as a student we are limited to 20g of platinum only and we were given design hooks to refer to directly.

I was nudged to look at my bench to find my own design hooks for inspiration. I eventually settled on my skeleton leaves as they have been the one aspect of design I have the most connection to. After brainstorming some ideas I want to try to replicate the leaf skeletons or recreate the fibres that knit together to make paper.

'New' drill

My work bench with a few more items on the board like enamel test pieces and a calendar to remind me about upcoming assignments. What I am most happy about though is that yesterday Nick (our workshop technician) and I managed to organize a working drill.
